I’m trying to start a t-shirt business and am curious what’s involved in licensing images of rock bands on t-shirts? What are the steps that I have to take? Who should I contact? I’d be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks.
To be more specific, I’ve noted that there are tons of T-shirt shops on the web (and in malls- Hot Topix, Spencers, etc) and wanted to know if there is a company or clearinghouse that aggregates licenses on bands’ behalf to sell to these vendors. Basically, how do these vendors get the rights for so many bands- so many t-shirts.
